Bar-drivers, introduced in 1988 for the Sealine 365 and 328 models, providing a bar-graph read out for the mains battery charger output amps.

In 1990 we introduced a new display with a digital voltage read-out, plus a bar-graph for service net amps. This employed a sensor that measured the magnetic field around the supply cable. Driving two bar graphs, red for discharge, green for charge.

In 1991 the next development saw a 30 dot bar graph, again showing red and green dots for net service amps. This bar-driver featured a through stud, and was now fitted in the starter motor / service load supply cable. This year also saw the introduction of AC bar-drivers, again using the magnetic senor head.

!998 saw the next big development, a solid state shunt for analogue gauges. This was a development of the bar-driver, using the same magnetic sensing system, and driving two different value meters from the same module. These units were fitted to most Sealine models from around 1999 to date.

A range of replacement modules covering all units supplied from 1988 on.

These cover all shunts and bar-drivers, both DC and AC. They are normally plug compatible with the original unit, and are operationally inter-changeable.

Is my bar–driver or shunt faulty?

If you think it may not be working, but not sure, please phone us. Yes even if it’s a 1988 unit, we are happy to explain how to check if you have a fault. Or if the bar-driver shunt, is OK, were the fault actually lies.
