In 1981 Kddpowercentre introduced the P3000, a low voltage power lock-out / battery reserve system. Isolating non-critical service battery loads to minimise battery drain, providing a power reserve to critical systems pending battery recharge. A second benefit was the increase in battery life, due to reduced deep discharges to service batteries.

Over the years the system has been developed to produce the current P4-3000 range. These feature increase power handling, improved display and control system, while still maintaining the original design philosophy.

dual source power supply

Provides a power supply to four outputs from two isolated battery banks. Power is drawn from the battery with the higher voltage, making it useful were a battery bank is used for service and engine starting. Providing a clean supply for electronics during engine starting, or a back-up power supply with low service battery voltage.

dual charge combiner

Combines power from two sources, while keeping them isolated, for example two solar panels charging one battery.

charge splitter

Mini blocking diodes, suits solar panels, small single output mains battery chargers, etc.

P4-3000 Low Voltage Power Reserve

From it’s concept in 1980, this system has always had two functions.

• power reserve for critical equipment at low

battery capacity.

• improve battery life by limiting excessive

battery drain.

This is achieved by switching non-critical systems out of circuit with a sealed relay. Full power is automatically restored when a suitable battery level is reached. Units can be adjusted to allow system to be matched to an application.

P4-3000 remote control panel

Allows the system functions to be monitored remotely, with only a single 4 core data cable required. Depending on the model, functions are,

• 10 dot bar-graph display allows remote monitoring of

battery voltage.

• audio / visual alarm for lock-out, mute function for audio.

• 4 minute power lock-out over ride, allows non-critical

circuits limited use during a lock-out period.

• power lock-out manual over ride, allows power to be

restored in an emergency situation.

• power lock-out manual engagement, allows non-critical

circuit isolation to maintain improved power reserve.
